When my children were small, I chose to implement

When my children were small, I chose to implement an early morning routine—time with God—to collect my thoughts, to journal, to ground myself for whatever the day might bring. Before interacting with others or uttering a word, I needed stillness to be reminded that I am not God and I cannot control most things, but I can live in a state of gratitude, knowing whatever the day may bring, I am His. #psalm4610 #colossians317 #bestillandknow @thelodgeatwoodloch

Blessed beyond measure this past week at #brmcwc but there’s no place like home. I can’t thank @stop2pray @lynetteeason @edwinaperkins and the list goes on and on, including faculty and the quiet, obedient servants in the background who made this year’s conference all that it was. 🙌🏻(Yes, I’ve been choked up more than once as I pulled away from @ridgecrestnc and on my drive home—all 491 miles.)

Thank you, thank you, thank you. And praise God. Our savior delivered. I know the prayers were the best preparation. And now, I’m being still…

I love #mantraband and its line of bangle bracelets. After having worn one that said “Choose Joy” for five years, I lost mine. I missed having that daily reminder so much, that I returned to the store where my family first found it for me.

“We haven’t carried that for years.” 😔

So, I set out on a search to track that company down, and I’m glad I did. Here is one of my recent purchases. Now I keep this message tucked away (stamped on the inside) on my wrist daily.

Some of us need prompts and reminders in our day because the world isn’t always so kind. Matter of fact, I encourage you to find what works—scripture cards in your car, a photo or placard on your mirror or desk, a coffee mug that reminds you of God’s truth about you. Tell me, what little reminders do you have that help to lift your spirit?

It’s taken me a long time to learn the importance

It’s taken me a long time to learn the importance and value of taking time out of my busyness to do little things that feed my spirit and bring me joy. Today I picked up some flowers at the grocery store and took time to trim and arrange this little bouquet.
